For over 45 years, Barnwood United has been bringing people together through a shared love of football. Our story began with a simple idea: a youth team created to keep friends and family playing regularly together. That spirit of friendship, community and togetherness has remained at the heart of everything we do.

 

Today, Barnwood United is so much more than a football team. We are a club for everyone.

From our youngest players taking their first steps onto the pitch, to our women’s and girls’ teams, our pan-disability footballers, our vets and our walking footballers - we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to play, belong and be part of something special.

Over four decades of grassroots football have taught us that a club is only as strong as the people who stand behind it. We have faced challenges that could have brought our journey to an end. But time and again, our community has come together, found a way forward and kept the Barny spirit alive. That resilience is part of who we are. So too are our values: inclusiveness, honesty, friendship and a genuine desire to see people thrive.

 

In 2022, we proudly returned to our roots by growing into Youth football. Since then, we have continued to build on that foundation, expanding our teams and creating more opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the game. We are proud of our past. We are passionate about our present. And we are excited about the future we are building together.
