Our Club Welfare Officer
Hi, I’m Becca, and I’m proud to be the Club Welfare Officer (CWO) here at Barnwood United. Outside of the club, I’m married to Andy, and our son, Max, plays for the U10 Blues – which Andy also coaches. Football is a huge part of our lives, and since recently joining Barnwood, I’ve witnessed the incredibly positive impact the club has had on our family and other families across all age groups, encouraging growth and friendship.
Safeguarding & Welfare
As CWO, I’m the main point of contact for all safeguarding matters for parents, coaches, and players. I ensure the best interests of the children are always prioritised and that their voices are heard at all levels. My role involves communicating with players, parents, and volunteers, providing advice and information about the club, and supporting the youth section.
It’s early days for me in this role, but I’m already amazed by the amount of time and effort that goes into running this wonderful club. From my perspective, the dedication to player welfare, coach support, and safeguarding is brilliant to see.
The club encourages me to have a voice on all matters, not just safeguarding, which empowers me to do my job well. Part of my role includes ensuring all coaches are DBS checked and trained in FA Safeguarding, so the past few months have been busy as we prepare for the new season!
If you need to reach me, I’m usually at the Hub on Saturday mornings and at training sessions, or you can contact me via the details at the bottom of this page.
